Buckeye Career Center is seeking businesses interested in participating in the school’s upcoming Career Connections Virtual Career Fair on Thursday, April 22 from noon to 2 p.m.

The event will be held this year by way of Zoom, allowing area employers a chance to safely interact with senior BCC students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our event was canceled last year, so we wanted to find a way to have this year’s event while keeping everyone safe,” public relations coordinator Shyanne Carroll said. “It is even more important now that we provide our students with opportunities to find employment, as in-person interactions are very limited these days. We also know that this event is a great service to many local employers and provides them a chance to recruit great employees who are nearing high school graduation.”

Exhibitors could potentially meet and interact with students from programs offered at Buckeye including agricultural and diesel technology, auto collision repair, auto technology, business/marketing, CAD/development and design, career-based intervention, commercial truck technology, computer technology/network systems, construction technology, cosmetology, culinary arts, early childhood education, energy operations, exercise science and sports medicine, floral design, graphic arts, HVAC-R, hospitality, electrical systems technology, intro to nursing, landscaping and turf management, law enforcement, masonry, medical assisting, natural resources, outdoor power equipment technology, project lead the way/engineering, pharmacy technician, precision machining, teaching professions, utility lineworker, welding, and meat cutting, deli and bakery.

Each BCC lab will have its own Zoom meeting link, and employers will have designated time slots to join the meetings and speak with students within that lab. Each student also will have a prepared resume and business cards available to send employer participants.

The deadline to register for the event is April 16 and can be done online at www.buckeyecareercenter.org/VirtualCareerFairRegistration.aspx. There is no charge for participation by employers.

Anyone with questions should call Julie Beaber at 330-339-2288 ext. 1221 or email jbeaber@buckeyecareercenter.org for more information.

Buckeye Career Center is located at 545 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
