From Palm Sunday to Peter’s betrayal of Christ, the week leading into Easter weekend was filled with many meaningful stories of Christ and the many followers who walked alongside him.

One area church is presenting a walk back in time in hopes of preparing people’s hearts, minds and souls for celebrating the risen cross on Easter.

Nashville Church of Christ will host its annual Easter Walk April 13-20, inviting the public to take a walk through the half-mile trail at the church that features scenes from Jesus Christ’s final days leading his disciples through his final days on earth that led up to the crucifixion and finally the resurrection.

Pastor Brad Dodson said they invite families, groups, friends, ministry teams and anyone who wants to experience the Easter story from start to finish to walk through each scene depicting a portion of what took place leading up to Easter.

Dodson said it is a unique and meaningful way to prepare every heart for what Easter ultimately presents in a risen Christ.

“We call the half-mile walk ‘Journey to the Cross,’” Dodson said. “We have 13 different stations people can view and experience the various scenes from Jesus working his way through the Holy Week to Good Friday.”

Each scene will include scripture and devotionals on large metal signs.

Dodson said the journey can mean something different to everyone, but he said it is meant to present a time of reflection and gratitude as each person takes their own spiritual moment.

“People can take as much time as they want and spend time there in prayer and reflection,” Dodson said.

The walk is free and available to the public throughout the week during daylight hours and is located directly behind the church.

Nashville Church of Christ is located at 13457 state Route 39 on the east side of Nashville.
