Pastor Mark Brumbelow and his wife Cherry will speak Friday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carlisle Inn in Walnut Creek. Brumbelow serves a church of 30 members in Wild Peach, Texas.

This small church reached a goal in 2016 to pack more than 2,000 Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts. In 2017 the church packed 8,030 shoebox gifts, even though many of their homes were devastated by flooding from Hurricane Harvey. They raised the suggested donation of $9 for each gift.

Shortly after the Brumbelows were invited to travel to storm-ravaged Barbuda to distribute shoebox gifts to children who had lost their homes to Hurricane Irma.

Seating for this event is limited, so reservations are necessary by calling Nancy at 330-231-5436 or Loretta at 330-874-2351 by Sept. 6.

There is no charge for the dinner, but donations will be received to cover expenses. Any money received over and above the evening’s expenses will be sent to Operation Christmas Child to go toward The Greatest Journey.

To learn more about how to be a part of Operation Christmas Child, call Lynette Mahaffey, Ohio East Area coordinator, at 330-852-8812.
