Dover American Legion Commander Keith Thomas opened the meeting Sept. 12 at 7 p.m., with three officers, five members and one new member, Zach Wallick present.

The minutes from the August meeting were read and approved, along with the financial report and all bills were paid.

All the tickets had been sold for the $400 gift certificate from Dover Buehler’s. The winner is Larry Clawson.

It was decided to have another drawing for a $400 gift certificate at the Dover Buehler’s store. Members will begin selling tickets at Buehler’s Saturday Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for $1or six for $5.

The Post will be donating an American Flag to Dover High School to replace the flag at Crater Stadium. It will be presented at the next home football game.

Area veterans are reminded to sign up for the free turkey, ham or a meat certificate at the Veterans Administration Office on old Route 21 in New Philadelphia. You have until Sept. 30 to sign up.

The members were also reminded to pay their dues for 2023, which were due in July.

Meeting are the first Monday of every month at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall in Dover. New members are encouraged to attend.

The next meeting will be Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at Memorial Hall.
