Buckeye Career Center has named its December Student of the Month recipients. Two high school students were chosen for the honor for demonstrating December’s core value of creativity. An adult education student also was selected for the honor.

Natalie Titus, a senior in medical assisting, has been named Student of the Month for December. Titus comes to Buckeye from Carrollton. She currently works at Wendy’s and enjoys spending time with her friends. She is a member of HOSA Future Health Professionals.

Upon graduation Titus hopes to attend Stark State to further a career in medical assisting or phlebotomy. Instructor Gail Sleighter said Titus works hard in class and has a bright future.

“She is empathetic, caring and trustworthy. I know that I can count on her to do the right thing,” Sleighter said.

Titus is the daughter of Chris and Danielle Titus.

Energy operations senior Nick Aul is the second Student of the Month for December. Aul, a student from Tusky Valley, lives in Bolivar. He works at Canal Street Diner and has participated in football, basketball and baseball for many years. He enjoys hunting and fishing and plans to attend Stark State for civil engineering. Instructor Ryan Irwin describes Aul as a hard worker.

“He completes his projects and is a peer leader in class, so he is respected by all of his classmates,” Irwin said.

Aul is the son of Jeff and Lisa Aul.

December’s Adult Student of the Month is medical office and billing specialist student Caleb McConnell.

McConnell is of Newcomerstown, graduated from Indian Valley and works at Dutch Valley Woodworking. He enrolled in the medical office and billing specialist program to better his education and career opportunities. Upon graduation he hopes to obtain a career in the medical field.

In his free time McConnell has coached basketball at the YMCA and for the Tuscarawas County Special Olympics team.

The three were honored at the December Buckeye Career Center board of education meeting and received photo banners to commemorate the honor. The high school students also received $25 Joe Carlisle Café & Marketplace gift certificates, courtesy of Skyline Homes.
