The Claymont Foundation 2025-26 scholarship applications are now available for current Claymont High School seniors, current college students who graduated from Claymont and sophomores who will attend Buckeye Career Center.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. for the current high school senior scholarships and the current college student scholarships and March 8 at 3 p.m. for the Buckeye Career Center scholarships. Applications are available at www.claymontschools.org/Scholarships.aspx.

The 2025-26 Buckeye Career Center scholarships are awarded to first-year students who will attend Buckeye Career Center enrolled in construction technology, electrical systems technology, welding, energy operations, HVAC, masonry and precision machining programs. The $500 scholarships will cover tuition, lab fees, and materials and supplies such as uniforms, boots or tools.

The 2025-26 current high school senior scholarships are awarded to Claymont seniors who are planning to attend a trade school, community college or university. These scholarships cover tuition, computers, supplies, books and university/college/school owned housing. Scholarship awards will be based on essays, GPA, activities, honors and awards.

The 2025-26 current college student scholarships are awarded to current college students who are Claymont graduates and who attend a trade school, community college or university. These scholarships cover tuition, computers, supplies, books and university/college/school owned housing. Scholarship awards will be based on essays, GPA and length of time remaining to receive a degree.

There are two types of scholarships available for current high school seniors and current college students: academic merit based and financial need based.

If the student chooses to apply for the need-based application, their parents or the head of household must submit their most recently filed federal income tax return.

“Earlier this year we were able to award more than $166,000 in scholarships to Claymont students and graduates and hope to award that amount or even more this year,” scholarship committee member Martha Campbell said. “We are humbled and honored that so many of our alumni, community members and area businesses help our students pursue their goals and dreams of a higher education through their generous scholarship donations.”
