Triway’s Raber desires to leave a lasting impact on today’s youth
Teachers can make a profound impact on their students.
That’s why Megan Raber decided to become one.
“I went into teaching due to my desire to help people and to leave a lasting impact on the future of today’s society,” said Raber, who teaches Algebra 1 and 2 at Triway High School.
Raber has taught for 10 years including the past two in the Triway Local School District. Her favorite teaching memory doesn’t center around one event.
“My favorite memories are the relationships and bonds I build with my students every day in the classroom,” she said.
Seeing her students progress is fulfilling for Raber.
“The most rewarding part of my job is getting to see my students grow, not only in the classroom, but grow into adults,” she said.
Raber didn’t realize how much her students would help her grow in her profession when beginning her career.
“When first starting to teach, I did not realize how much my students would teach me and help me grow every day into the teacher I am today,” she said.
The job doesn’t come without its challenges.
“The most challenging part of my job is helping my students to overcome obstacles they have encountered and to help them reach their full potential,” Raber said.
Raber participated in softball, volleyball, National Honor Society and musicals as a student.
When she’s not teaching, Raber likes to watch sports such as the Guardians, Buckeyes or Cavaliers and support her students at their games and extracurricular activities.
