West Holmes BOE approves 1-year coaching contracts
The West Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met Monday, July 21 at West Holmes High School for a regular meeting.
The board did several things during the meeting:
—Approved the following one-year contracts for the 2025-26 school year: Keaton Leppla (high school football head coach), Jason Haley (high school football assistant), Timothy McAvene (high school football assistant), Cooper Haley (high school football assistant, 1/2 stipend), Tom Eastep (high school football assistant, 1/2 stipend), Brandon Mackey (high school football assistant, 1/2 stipend), Bridger Cline (high school football assistant, 1/2 stipend), Tony Roberts (freshman football head coach), DiVaunta Spearman (freshman football assistant), Gabe Snyder (high school volunteer football coach), Ryan Jacobs (high school volunteer football coach), Landyn Dye (high school volunteer football coach), Jack Doran-Perrine (volunteer football coach freshman), Geoff Wagers (middle school football head coach), Tucker Kaufman (middle school football assistant), Peyton McKinney (middle school football assistant), Luke Ogi (middle school football assistant), Nolan Mackey (middle school football volunteer coach), Amanda Humphrey (high school volleyball head coach), Markie McDowell (high school volleyball assistant), Adrienne Flanders (middle school volleyball head coach), Megan Roberts (middle school volleyball assistant coach), Joshua Wengerd (high school boys soccer head coach), Grant Fox (high school boys soccer assistant), Steve Obrst (high school volunteer boys soccer coach), Jill Obrst (high school volunteer boys soccer coach), Tyler Masters (middle school boys soccer head coach), Brett Blake (middle school volunteer boys soccer coach), Nate Wade (middle school volunteer boys soccer coach), Bruce Murphy (high school girls soccer head coach), Brooke Wolfe (high school girls soccer assistant), Nicole Strouse (middle school girls soccer head coach), Mike Molnar (high school golf head coach), Thad Weaver (high school golf assistant coach), Keith Troyer (middle school golf head coach), Morgan Gerber (varsity girls tennis head coach), Trevor Miller (high school girls tennis assistant coach), Kevin Beachy (high school/middle school cross country head coach), Scot Mellor (high school/middle school cross country assistant), Nick Gerber (volunteer cross country coach) and Clay Miller (volunteer cross country coach).
—Approved the following retirements: Julie Snyder, teacher, effective Oct. 1.
—Approved the following resignations: Madison Simon, guidance counselor, effective July 8; Darla Miller, cook, effective Aug. 1; Steven McKinney, custodian/groundskeeper, effective July 31; and Erica Mencer, bus driver, effective July 18.
—Approved the following transfers: Christen Troyer, paraprofessional, Millersburg Elementary to West Holmes Middle School, and Arlene Waltment, paraprofessional, West Holmes Middle School to Millersburg Elementary.
—Approved the contract between Tri-County Educational Service Center and West Holmes Local Schools for English language tutor services for the 2025-26 school year.
—Approved the use of designated areas in Millersburg Elementary School by the YMCA of Wayne County for a before- and after-school program. This approval includes the waiving of building-use fees that are typically required for outside entities using West Holmes facilities.
—Approved the contract between West Holmes Local Schools and the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center for the 2025-26 school year.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 18 at West Holmes High School.
