Wooster native returning home as Kean principal
Darrin Nash, a Wooster native, has been selected as the new principal of Kean Elementary, pending board of education approval.
Raised by his parents James and Nina in Wooster, Nash is a graduate of the Wooster City School District. He attributes any prior and future success to his parents, whose values and standards laid a strong foundation for his family.
Nash has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Weber State University in Utah. He earned his master’s degree in psychology, school counseling from Utah State University and his master’s degree in educational leadership from Southern Utah University.
Nash began his career as a licensed school counselor before serving 10 years as a school administrator and two years as a district director in the Davis School District in Utah.
He returns to his hometown to reconnect with his Wooster family and community. Nash is proud of his 28-year marriage and his two adult sons.
“I feel deeply driven and grateful for the opportunity to return home to lead Kean Elementary and to team with our school and community to make a lasting, positive impact on our kids and the place we call home,” Nash said.
Superintendent Gabe Tudor said, “Darrin brings a variety of experiences that will serve the Kean and Wooster community well. He has served many roles in education and leadership that will be an asset to our administrative team. His commitment and dedication to Wooster will support our students and families strongly, and we are glad to have Mr. Nash back in Wooster.”
Nash will spend time this summer transitioning back to the Wooster community with his family.
