Holmes County Sheriff deputies are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that killed a Beach City man around 5:18 p.m. on May 1. The crash occurred on state Route 515 at the intersection of County Road 168 in Walnut Creek Twp.

Adam E. Miller, 19, of Beach City was pronounced dead at the scene by Paint Twp. (Winesburg) EMS. Miller was operating a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle at the time of the crash.

An investigation by deputies indicated that Miller was southbound on sR 515 when a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by John F. Owens, 88, of Sugarcreek pulled into his path from a stop sign at the intersection of CR168. Miller then struck the driver’s side front bumper of the truck and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Both vehicles remained in the intersection after the crash. Miller was wearing a helmet and Owens was wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. No impairment from either driver is suspected.

The intersection was closed for several hours as the crash was investigated.

Assisting deputies at the scene were Paint Twp. Fire and EMS, Holmes County coroner Dr. Leon Miller and Holmes County prosecuting attorney Matt Muzic.
