Book Buzz

Mark calendars for Tuesday, March 2 at 8 p.m. to join the library on Facebook for Book Buzz to talk about the books everyone has been reading and to get suggestions for new reads. No registration is necessary. Just hop on Facebook.

Seed Exchange

Stop by Orrville Public Library’s Seed Exchange area to share seeds with others and possibly pick up a new favorite. The library will accept both commercially packaged and saved seeds for herbs, flowers and vegetables. If you no longer have the original packet, place your seeds in a small Ziploc bag and label it with the variety of seed, any growing notes and the year of the seed. There also will be a variety of gardening books on display.

The exchange will begin March 1 and continue through May 31. This is self-serve, so everyone can take some seeds home, even if they have nothing to bring.

Virtual Book Discussion

Join Sarah from Heartland Point and Daphne from Orrville Public Library as they co-host a Virtual Book Discussion on Wednesday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. The March book to read is “The Tattooist of Auschwitz” by Heather Morris. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

In “The Tattooist of Auschwitz,” it is 1942, and Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is transported to a concentration camp. He is soon put to work as a tattooist, permanently marking his fellow prisoners. He meets Gita, who is about to become prisoner 34902, and vows to survive the camp and marry her.

Registration for the discussion must be done through Heartland Point’s website by March 22. Participants will then be contacted with information on how to access the meeting.

Database Showcase

Morningstar Investments, one of Orrville Public Library’s free online databases, is a great place to analyze finances and maybe explore the world of investing.
