Kindness campaign kicks off in Orrville

Turning Point Coalition of Orrville kicked off 2022 with a kindness campaign, assisted by its youth coalition, Riders Are Peer Advocates. This initiative will help showcase the positive community norms happening in Orrville, giving young people the opportunity to be kind and see kindness all around them.

During January and early February, Orrville residents will track acts of kindness done by Orrville elementary, middle and high school students and report them via the form at Turning Point Coalition’s Facebook page will list weekly acts of kindness totals.

Free signs for businesses and nonprofits to put up in their windows are being offered as a way to engage in this campaign. If on Main Street, expect to see Turning Point Coalition members stopping by in early January to offer signs. Otherwise, reach out to the group on Facebook or email to get one.

All students will receive a free “Be Kind” water bottle, and school staff will receive a travel mug. Look for signs around the community as the campaign begins. During the month students will track acts of kindness in their classes on paper hearts. The student body will receive a grand act of kindness gift from Turning Point Coalition after the campaign, and the grade with the most acts of kindness will receive a special prize.
