The Tuscarawas County Public Library System announced a vacancy on its board of trustees, due to the expired term of Joanne Limbach of New Philadelphia.

                        

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System announced a vacancy on its board of trustees, due to the expired term of Joanne Limbach of New Philadelphia.

This vacancy is one of three board positions (out of seven) appointed by the Court of Common Pleas. Applicants for this at-large board position must be residents of the Tuscarawas County Public Library District in Tuscarawas County and live in the New Philadelphia school district.

Based upon Ohio Revised Code, trustees of county library boards serve seven-year terms; the term for this board position will expire on Dec. 31, 2026.

The Tuscarawas County Public Library consists of mobile services and five facilities located in New Philadelphia, Bolivar, Strasburg, Sugarcreek and Tuscarawas. The Tuscarawas County Public Library board of trustees currently includes representatives from each of these communities.

In 2018 customers of the Tuscarawas County Public Library System checked out and used 1.2 million items, circulated more than 1 million items, answered more than 51,000 reference questions, and provided programs for over 23,898 people.

The board meets on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Main Library in New Philadelphia.
