The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 2 election is Oct. 4.

                        

Monday, Oct. 4 is the deadline to register to vote or change your name or address for the Nov. 2 general election. Residents can register at the Holmes County Board of Elections in the Clinton Street Office Building at 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 108, Millersburg. The board of elections office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Oct. 4 the office will be open until 9 p.m. Registration forms also are available at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or at the Holmes County District Public Library.

Check your registration, change your address online, register online or print forms to register by mail at www.voteohio.gov.

To vote, a person must be a U.S. citizen, be a resident of the county and precinct in which one plans to vote, be at least 18 years of age on or before the day of the general election, and have registered to vote at least 30 days prior to the election.

The Nov. 2 general election ballot includes races for village council member and board of public affairs member, township trustee, educational service center governing board, and school district board of education member.

Also appearing on the ballot will be several local tax issues.
