ORHS to present Kids Day on June 7
Orrville Railroad Heritage Society will present its second annual Kids Day on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orrville YMCA, 1801 Smucker Road. The event is free to attend.
Due to ongoing construction near the Depot, this year’s festivities have been relocated but will still include a packed lineup. Families can see Outback Ray’s Amazing Animal Show, a model train display by the Wooster Society of Model Railroaders Club and magic tricks by roving magician J.R. Grieco.
Children can ride the Lions Club train, get “jailed” by Sheriff William B. Justice as part of a fundraiser for Depot renovations and compete in pedal tractor races. Face painting by Katelin Fields, bounce houses, and treats like Lovable Crush ice cream sandwiches and complimentary popcorn from the Original Orr Theater also will be available.
Local organizations including the Orrville Police Department, Orrville Fire Department, Medway Drug Enforcement Agency, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Ohio State Police and military units will host interactive displays.
