Museum to host cartooning workshop Aug. 23
The Massillon Museum will offer a cartooning workshop with Douglas Laubacher Saturday, Aug. 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. for adults and children ages 8 and older.
Laubacher, a cartoonist and art educator from Minerva, is the creator of the comic strip Unbound, which appears in the Tuscarawas County Bargain Hunter. A member of the National Cartoonist Society, he teaches cartooning in art centers and libraries throughout the region.
Registration is limited and can be completed at MassMu.org/Tickets or by calling 330-833-4061. The class fee is $20, or $16 for MassMu members, and includes supplies.
The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon. Admission to the museum is always free, and free parking is available on adjacent streets and in nearby city lots.
The museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon. Workshops are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
