Family Cookbook

Families with kids in third grade through sixth grade are invited to Orrville Public Library’s Family Cookbook event on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. Prepare a recipe or two from Katie Sullivan Morford’s “Best Lunch Box Ever” or “Weelicious Lunches” by Catherine McCord and bring the food to share with others, potluck style, that evening.

Registration is required and can be completed by clicking the event on the website calendar or by calling the children’s department. Register all people who will attend.

Plant exchange

Orrville Public Library will offer a free plant exchange on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Any healthy, portable plants, bulbs, tubers or shrubs are welcome. Master Gardener Ann McPeek also will be on hand to answer plant-related questions.

Basic guidelines for the plant swap include the following:

—Label the containers as to type of plant, color and sun specifications.

—If you bring a plant that is a rapid spreader, warn the recipients so they are able to plant it with caution.

—Do not bring plants that have disease or insect problems.

Teen Book Box

Registration for Orrville Public Library’s next Teen Book Box will be held the week of Sept. 16. Designed for teens in sixth grade through 12th grade, the box is customized to what you like to read and will contain two library books and some treats and trinkets.

Registration can be completed through the website calendar or by calling the information desk. Teen Book Boxes will be available to pick up the week of Oct. 7.
