TuscParks to host Family Fishing Day at Norma Johnson Center
TuscParks will host a free Family Fishing Day at the Norma Johnson Center Saturday, June 14 from 9:30-11 a.m. Registration will take place from 9-9:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Kimble Family and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Step Outside Grant.
Fishing will take place at the Preservation Pond, located behind the yellow pole barn at the center’s state Route 39 entrance. Families must register on-site during the designated time, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the morning, with special recognitions announced at 11:15 a.m. Participants without a fishing pole can still take part by contacting the TuscParks office ahead of time to make arrangements.
Family Fishing Day has become a community tradition at the Norma Johnson Center. With support from volunteers, attendees can learn basic fishing skills.
The event will be canceled in the event of rain.
The Norma Johnson Center is located at 4033 state Route 39 NW, between Dover and Sugarcreek. The center includes five ponds, where catch-and-release fishing is permitted year round from dawn to dusk.
