With the start of the 2021-22 academic year not far off, the Wayne County Health Department will offer vaccine clinics regularly at the health department and at various outreach clinics over the summer months to help parents get their children up to date before school starts.

To schedule a child and get them up to date on their childhood immunizations, call the health department at 330-264-9590 ext. 214.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, immunization rates for common childhood diseases decreased in Wayne County, and the health department wants to work toward catching children up. Kindergarteners, seventh-graders and seniors all have required vaccines for school.

Vaccine costs are $10 a dose. The health department accepts most private insurance. The health department will not turn away any child due to cost.

The Wayne County Health Department also will host childhood vaccine clinics at the New Leaf Center on July 28, Aug. 25 and Sept. 22. New Leaf Center is located at 16014 E. Chestnut St. in Mt. Eaton.
