Health screenings upcoming at Keim Lumber
Pomerene Hospital will offer health screenings throughout 2020 at Keim Lumber in Charm.
Health screenings by Pomerene Hospital will be conducted on the third Wednesday of every month at Keim Lumber, 4465 state Route 557 in Charm, beginning on Jan. 15.
The tests will be conducted from 7-10 a.m. each month with no appointment necessary. Results will then be mailed, taking up to two weeks, with payment accepted in cash or check only.
Tier-one testing and cost include blood sugar, $5; lipid panel (cholesterol), $20; PSA (prostate cancer), $25; hemoglobin A1C, $15; thyroid panel, $35; liver panel, $20; ovarian cancer, $20; breast cancer, $20; and gastrointestinal cancer, $20.
Tier-two testing, requiring doctor’s orders, includes CBC (complete blood count), $20, and CMP (complete metabolic panel), $40.
For blood-test accuracy, a 12-hour fasting period prior to testing is recommended with drinking water allowed.
Testing dates after Jan. 15 include Feb. 19, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
