The Holmes County Education Foundation will sponsor an ACT Test Turbo Workshop. This event helps with ACT Test preparation and will take place at the University of Akron campus located above Bags Restaurant at 88-B E. Jackson St. in Millersburg from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1.

BWS Education Consulting will present the workshop. Students will work with sample tests from the ACT, be taught critical test-taking strategies and receive additional test-prep materials.

Increased test scores can lead to increased scholarship amounts offered from colleges and universities. Students have shown to raise their ACT score between one and four points after completing the ACT Turbo Workshop.

The cost to participate is a $20 check made payable to HCEF or four hours of verified community service. Lunch will be included.

Preregistration is required. Registration forms are available at both Hiland and West Holmes high school guidance offices and online at www.hcef.net/event/act-turbo-workshop/2020-02-01.

The deadline to register is Jan. 17 at 5 p.m., but only 27 seats remain. Preference will be given to students who are current juniors with Holmes County residency. For questions about registration or payment requirements, call 330-674-7303.

The Holmes County Education Foundation has been encouraging further education for Holmes County residents by awarding over $9 million in financial need-based scholarships and grants since 1991. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.hcef.net and follow them on Facebook and LinkedIn.
