All-Star softball now June 23 in Shreve
The annual Senior All-Star softball game that was rained out on June 9 will now be played on June 23.
It will actually be a pair of games as the Futures Showcase, featuring underclassmen, will kick off the night at 5 p.m. at Cory Leighty Field in Shreve, followed by a home run derby between five of the area's best sluggers. After that, the best seniors will take the field located on Roger Wells Parkway.
Also, in the June 7 story on the games, event co-director Gary Basinger was listed as a current Triway High softball assistant coach. Basinger retired from that position after the 2022 season.
