Hawks hammer Rockets; sink Pirates
The Lady Hawks wasted little time diffusing the Conotton Valley Rockets in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action Thursday at the Perry Reese Jr. Community Center.Hiland scored a 25-14, 25-10, 25-11 win over Conotton Valley to run its record to 15-4 on the season.
Andrea Mast led the way from the service line for the Lady Hawks, serving up 16 points, including a pair of aces to go with 29 assists as setter.
Jill Martin lead the Hiland attack with nine kills and nine digs. Arrianna Schrock blasted seven kills and Kendra Mast contributed six kills for the winners.
Krista Miller chipped in nine points (one ace) and nine digs.
On Monday, Oct. 12, in Sugarcreek, the Lady Hawks rolled to three straight wins over Garaway, sinking the Pirates 25-9, 25-19, 25-21.
Krista Miller and Jill Martin led the way from the service line for Hiland, combining for 15 aces. Miller finished with 15 points and nine aces. Martin added nine points with six aces.
At the net, Hiland got seven kills apiece from Kendra Mast and Martin, while Janelle Miller chipped in with five. Andrea mast delivered 22 assists.
Defensively, Hiland got six blocks apiece from Kendra Mast and Arrianna Schrock. Krista Miller came up with 10 digs.
Hiland improved to 16-4 with the win.
