Jared Zollars wins Wayne-Holmes Invitational; Knights take second

                        
Both the West Holmes boys and girls cross country teams finished second at the Wayne-Holmes Invitational Saturday, Oct. 10, at Orrville.
Jared Zollars won the race, but the Knights finished six points off the pace set by Wooster 46-52. Orrville finished a distant third with 88, followed by Smithville, Triway, Norwayne, Dalton and Northwestern. There were 89 runners competing in all.
Zollars won the race in 17:13 and Nick Wolff finished eighth in 18:06.
Matt Stonebrook finished 13th (18:44), Cully Gordon 14th (18:47) and Tim Young 16th (18:51) to round out the scoring for West Holmes.
Brett McClain (21st, 19:16) and Taylor Eliot (34th, 20:35) also ran but did not score.
Macy Adkins and Nichole Peterman finished in the top five, and the Lady Knights finished second behind Wooster 55-62. Orrville finished third (80), followed by Dalton, Central Christian, Smithville and Northwestern. There were 70 girls competing.
Adkins finished third in 20:53 and Peterman ran fifth in 21:24.
Bethany Molnar (12th, 22:23) and Lorraine Strouse (13th, 22:26) were next for the Lady Knights.
Miranda Hostetler finished 36th (24:33) to round out the scoring.
Logan Huffman (46th, 26:00) and Laura Miller (55th, 26:44) also ran for West Holmes.
