Knights second in triangular

Joseph Bukosky and Joey Gonzalez shared medalist honors as West Holmes defeated Mansfield Senior 167-197 in Ohio Cardinal Conference golf action Thursday at Fire Ridge. Bukosky and Gonzalez both shot 40s to lead the Knights. Patrick Shriver came in next with a 43 and Errick Flinner rounded out the winning card with a 44. The Knights shot a round of 175, good enough to take second in a triangular match against Meadowbrook and Dover on Wednesday at Fire Ridge. Joseph Bukosky was low man for the Knights with a 40. Patrick Shriver shot a 43 and Aaron Lytle added a 44 to lead the Knights. Errick Flinner rounded out the card with a 47. West Holmes finished six strokes off the pace of Meadowbrook, which won with a round of 169. Miller and Pennington shared medalist honors for the Colts with rounds of 39. Dover finished third with a 190. “We are starting to pull together,” West Holmes coach Kim Kauffman said. We almost squeaked one out.” On Tuesday, Sept. 1, West Holmes thumped Orrville 172-191 at Fire Ridge. Shriver shot a 39 to lead the Knights and claim medalist honors. “Patrick played the way I knew he could,” Kauffman said. “I’m very proud of his progress.” Bukosky and Bryce Spitler shot 44s and Joey Gonzalez rounded out the winning card with a 45. Jason Biltz shot a 51 to lead the West Holmes JV to victory, 207-243.
