Singles sweep lifts Lady Knights over Quakers
A sweep of singles action lifted West Holmes over New Philadelphia in tennis action Monday, at Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia.Rachel Nelson cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles.
Mary Nelson won 6-2, 6-1 at second singles.
Eva Elpers completed the singles sweep and secured the victory with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at third singles.
Alyssa Read and Brittany Polen fell 6-3, 6-2 at first doubles and Hannah Frank and Jenna Polen were toppled 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 at second doubles.
The JV won 4-3.
West Holmes improved to 13-2 on the season.
The Lady Knights compete in the Ohio Cardinal Conference tournament Saturday, at Lexington.
