In a large field filled with quality opponents, the West Holmes Middle School wrestlers put forth a quality effort this past weekend in continuing the Knights’ wrestling legacy. West Holmes placed fifth out of 32 teams at the Meadowbrook Middle School tournament with 104 points. Larger schools were the only ones to finish ahead of the Knights. Perry was first, Mansfield Sr. second, Columbus DeSales third, and Miami Trace finished fourth. The Knights’ Ray O’Donnell performed extremely well, parlaying his effort into a championship at the 72-pound division. Other individual placers for the Knights included Grant Raber (128 pounds), who finished third, Ethan Chew (98) fought his way to a seventh-place finish, Conway Baldridge (150), who earned a sixth place spot, Tyson Barnett (134), who finished seventh and Hunter Akers (150), who ended up 11th.
