Leadership change at Holmes-Wayne Electric Co-Op
Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative recently announced that, effective Jan. 1, 2026, John Porter will be stepping into the role of CEO and president at Holmes-Wayne Electric Co-Op.
Porter has been a dedicated member of the Holmes-Wayne Electric team for the past 37 years, bringing leadership, innovation and expertise to the co-op’s engineering and operations departments. Since joining, he has played a key role in transforming and advancing those departments, leading to significant improvements in efficiency and reliability.
In recognition of his contributions, Porter was named vice president of engineering and operations in 2005. A registered professional engineer in Ohio since 1995, Porter has also been an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for 38 years and is a member of the Ohio Engineers Association.
His industry involvement extends to serving on the Ohio Electric Cooperative’s Facilities Attachment Committee, where he helps guide important infrastructure decisions.
Beyond the utility world, Porter also gives back to the local community as a board member of the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce.
Holmes-Wayne Electric Cooperative also thanked Glenn Miller, who is retiring, for his contributions over the last 22 years and his leadership and guidance through numerous innovations and improvements to the company's facilities and infrastructure.
