Holiday Inn Express & Suites opens in Millersburg
The new Holiday Inn Express & Suites recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a grand opening event soon to follow.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites on South Washington Street in Millersburg held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct. 5 as they welcomed visitors and celebrated their new connection to the community.
“We kept the ribbon-cutting ceremony pretty low-key, just to get it out there, but we are very excited about becoming a part of the Millersburg community,” said Heather Bishop, general manager. “This is an exciting time of growth in Millersburg, and with our ownership being from the area, it feels like a really great fit. Getting a chance to deal with the other local businesses in town is exciting. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, offering their help and asking if they could do anything to help. That is fun to see that kind of camaraderie take place.”
The ownership team of the new hotel is Rod and Becky Starr and Larry and Rita Keim, who have lived here and grown to know the area well. They are part of the Riley Hotel Group.
Established in 2003, Riley Hotel Group manages 22 properties in five states. “We feel fortunate to be a part of this property and to offer the village of Millersburg an opportunity to stay at this new, branded hotel and to represent IHG in the community. This will be a terrific addition to our sister and award-winning property in Berlin, the Berlin Grande Hotel,” vice president of operations Lisa Zifer said.
Bishop said the hotel will soon present an open house that will celebrate the new hotel further.
