Wayne College welcomes new employees

                        
Four full-time faculty members and an admissions counselor joined Wayne College at the beginning of the fall semester. Dr. Dimitria Gatzia is the college’s new assistant professor of philosophy. She will be teaching courses in philosophy, including ethics and logic. She was a visiting assistant professor at the University’s Akron campus prior to joining Wayne. Gatzia earned a B.A. from UCLA and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University. Dr. Heather Howley comes to Wayne from Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, N.Y. She is the new full-time assistant professor of communication. She earned a B.A from Youngstown State University and her M.S. and Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Dr. Karen Larwin comes to Wayne from the University’s Akron campus. She is the new full-time assistant professor of statistics. She will be teaching various statistics courses offered at Wayne. Larwin received her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from Kent State University. Dr. John Roncone comes to Wayne from Brown Mackie College where he was chair in the department of allied health. He is the new full-time assistant professor of physical education. He will be teaching courses in physical education and health and wellness. Roncone also taught as a part-time instructor at Wayne for several years. He earned his B.A. from Mount Union College, his M.S. from Slippery Rock University and his Ph.D. from Kent State University. In addition to new faculty, the college also has hired Sarah Jane Morrow as an admissions counselor. She will be working most closely with high school students. She is a graduate of Dalton High School and attended her first two years of college at Wayne before graduating from The University of Akron in May 2009.
