West Holmes BOE holds March meeting
The West Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met Monday, March 17 at Nashville Elementary for a regular meeting.
The board did the following during the meeting:
—Approved participating in the MEC Purchasing Consortium and the State of Ohio Cooperative Purchasing Program.
—Approved the following hirings: Sherry Maynard, cook, effective Feb. 10; Ryan Zickefoose, custodian, effective March 10; Thad Weaver, teacher, effective Aug. 15; and Tyler Masters, teacher, effective Aug. 1.
—Approved the following retirements: Bud Yoder, teacher, effective May 29, and David Rhoades, technology, effective June 30.
—Approved the following resignations: Zachary Gardner, teacher, effective May 31; Cooper Charlton, head middle school track coach, effective Feb. 20; David Whytsell, custodian, effective March 7; Katie Tyson, middle school volleyball, effective March 10; and Cara Park, high school volleyball, effective March 13.
—Approved the following substitutes: Lauren Jones, teacher, effective Feb. 14; Samantha Hall, custodian, effective Feb. 14; Cynthia Elias, cook, effective Feb. 25; Kali Woods, nondegree teacher, effective March 11; and Alyssa Swinehart, nondegree teacher, effective March 17.
—Approved the following supplemental positions: Clay Miller, middle school girls track head coach; Carla Burgett, middle school girls track assistant coach; Isaac Haver, middle school boys track head coach; Bud Yoder, middle school boys track assistant coach; Steve Frank, volunteer softball coach; Abby Sanders, high school volunteer track coach; and Zaylie Shultz, high school volunteer track coach

Millersburg Elementary thanked the Millersburg Police Department for donating $550 toward negative school lunches from their No Shave January and February fundraisers.
The next board meeting is scheduled for April 14 at West Holmes Middle School.
