West Holmes FFA Chapter conducts meeting
The West Holmes FFA Chapter held its March meeting on March 17. Officer elections were held, and the chapter had Subway before the meeting.
The meeting took place in the commons of the school and was brought to order by President Andi Schuch. Opening ceremonies were held. Officer reports were given. Committee reports were then given.
Emmy Miller gave the social and recreation committee report. Ben Forrer gave the state and national affairs committee report. Madison Mittman gave the community service committee report. Hayden Smith gave the scholarship committee report. Jenna Brumme gave the cooperations committee report.
Carson Horn gave the conduct of meetings committee report. Grady Hawkins gave the SAE committee report. Rowan Holasek gave the public relations committee report. Cadence Martie gave the earnings and savings committee report. Jackson Baker gave the alumni relations committee report. Ellectra Beachy gave the membership development committee report.
New business was then conducted. Hayden Smith moved and Carson Horn seconded to participate in a spring trap shoot and have the chapter cover half the fees. Reece Anderson moved and Ian Barr seconded to pay for supplies for the banquet.
Logan Horn moved and Ian Barr seconded to donate the cake proceeds to the chapter and the rest of the money to the Holmes County Roots Organization.
Billy Patten moved and Blake Patterson seconded to send members to the State Convention and have each member pay a $125 deposit.
Jenna Zimmerly moved and Dylan Sours seconded to approve Janessa Hill for the Honorary American Degree; Mr. Pringle for the Honorary State Degree; Mandy Taylor, Linsey Watson, Jayme Pennell, and Mr. and Mrs. Keaton Lorentz for the Honorary Chapter Degree; and Kayla Jones, Tim Hershberger, Don Snow, Holmes Rental and Lexi Ogi for the Distinguished Service Award.
Emmy Miller moved and Gabby Fowler seconded to approve the Certificate of Appreciation nominees as posted.
Reagan Mackey moved and Courtney Crider seconded to help Holmes County Soil and Water District with tree packing on April 2.
Jack Jewell moved and Zander Croskey seconded to have six money eggs at the March meeting egg hunt with four valued at $5 and one valued at $10 and $20.
Claire Drzazaga moved and Cassidy Holasek seconded to host and pay for supplies for the distinct outdoor power contest.
Deacon Clemens moved and Dylan Sours seconded to send members to FFA camp this summer.
Ben Forrer moved and Madison Mittman seconded to have each member and one guest attend the banquet for free and have the chapter pay the remaining $5 of the other guests.
Miley Snow moved and Casey Ogi seconded to hold officer elections. The motion passed. Casey Ogi moved and Miley Snow seconded to adjourn.
All motions were passed.
The 2025-26 officer team is as follows: President Madison Ringwalt, Vice President Emma Eberhard, secretary Mia Spencer, reporter Courtney Crider, Treasurer Shane Lorentz, Sentinel Makenzie Mast, student adviser Natty Lint and historian Wyatt Troyer.
