Wooster City Schools name new high school principal
The Wooster City School District recently announced that pending WCSD Board of Education approval, the new Wooster High School principal will be Margaret Davis, who has served the Wooster City School District for the past three years as an assistant and associate principal at WHS.
Originally from Frederick, Maryland, Davis was practically born into an education career. With a mother who served as a middle school principal, alternative school principal and director of special education and a father who was a professor of physics, Davis was immersed in the world of education from a young age.
She graduated from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in math and education and earned her master’s degree in education administration from The American College of Education.
When Davis arrived in Wooster to teach high school math in the West Holmes Local School District, she knew she had found her home. Three years ago she was hired by Wooster City Schools as one of the high school assistant principals and more recently took on the position of associate principal.
“From the moment I started working at Wooster High School, it felt like home,” said Davis, who expressed her gratitude for the administrative team and staff.
When asked about her new leadership role at WHS, Davis said, “I believe in the work we are doing and look forward to continuing to provide high-quality instruction in a school community where our students feel safe and valued.”
Superintendent Gabe Tudor said, “Mrs. Davis has been an asset to our high school and district administrative teams. Her dedication to the Wooster City Schools students, staff, families and community is evident, and we look forward to the future of WHS with her leadership.”
Davis resides in Wooster with her husband Dustin, who serves the district as assistant supervisor of facilities, and their three children. One of the aspects of this position that Davis is most excited about is her children will get to experience the educational opportunities offered by the Wooster City School District.
