Wooster City Schools transportation info for 2023-24
Wooster City Schools expects changes in the transportation process and procedures for the 2023-24 school year and released the following information to prepare and inform parents:
—The district has a deadline for signing up for school bus transportation within Final Forms. Log in to a student’s Final Forms account by visiting www.woostercityschools.org and clicking the Final Forms link on the homepage.
The deadline for bus transportation is Tuesday, Aug. 1. If Final Forms are not completed by that date, bus transportation for the beginning of school will not be guaranteed.
—The transportation department has worked to better the communication between its office and district parents over the last school year and will continue to do so.
The department will introduce the Route Finder app for anyone who wishes to access their student’s busing information on their smartphone. This information will show individual stop locations and stop times given by the transportation department. This information will be provided no later than Wooster City Schools Convocation Day of Monday, Aug. 14. Any family who cannot access this application has the option to contact the department and will be given the information by phone or email.
—If a student plans to attend the Wayne County Career Center, part-time or full-time, Wooster High School Final Forms will be required to be completed by Aug. 1. Transportation information is not provided through the career center but through a student’s home school, which is Wooster High School. If this is not completed, there will not be any guarantee of transportation for the first week of school.
—Walk Zone for Wooster High School is 1 mile, 0.75 mile for grades 1-7 and 0.5 mile for kindergarten.
—For open enrollment, whether living in another Wooster city elementary school zone or another school district, all families will be notified they have waived their right to school transportation based on their enrollment choice. The only exception to this rule would be special education and/or district-placed students. For more information on special education, call student services at 330-988-1111.
—The district wants to prepare for the reality in numbers when it comes to transporting students to and from school, so it is asking that if a student does not intend on consistently riding a bus to and from school that he or she is not enrolled in bus transportation. The option to change a means of transportation will still be available.
Busing information will be provided within three school days from the time submission of information is completed. For questions or instructions on how to access your student’s Final Forms, call the central office at 330-988-1111.
