Wayne County Home & Garden Show is April 26-27
On Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 34th annual Wayne County Home & Garden Show at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. The free, family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
“This is the area’s longest-running and largest event of its kind, featuring an amazing variety of innovative and inspiring home products and services,” said Sarah McFarland, events coordinator with the Chamber.
Parking is free, and along with a wide selection of home and garden vendors, attendees can enjoy classic fair-style food.
McFarland said the show is a longstanding spring tradition that helps connect consumers with the products and services they need to update their lawns, homes and gardens. It also gives local businesses a chance to engage with the community in a vibrant, welcoming setting.
For younger visitors, MCTV and several local businesses are sponsoring a children’s garden with crafts, activities and a scavenger hunt that guides kids through vendor booths. After completing the hunt, children can enter to win a grand prize donated by Rural King.
“The goal is for the whole family to enjoy the event and for children to stay entertained while parents explore their interests,” McFarland said.
A plant sale will feature seven vendors, including Buchwalter Greenhouse, Rural King, Hummingbird Hill Flower Farm, Ohio State CFAES, ADF Acres and Everything Surplus.
“It’s a one-stop shop to fill your flower beds and garden with greenery and color and also find a wide variety of steals and deals for your home,” McFarland said. “It gives people the chance to shop not only for services but also walk away with plants and products when they’re feeling inspired by the exhibits.”
Food vendors will include Lerch’s Donuts, Linn Enterprises, Schloneger’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream, Walter Concessions, Redmond Concessions, Cheeky’s Twisted Eats and Ott’s Coffee.
“It’s a great opportunity to get your fair food fix,” said McFarland.
Apple Creek Bank will provide an ATM and a booth with giveaways during the show.
“We are grateful to The Apple Creek Banking Company for their longtime support of the Wayne County Home & Garden Show and to all of our generous sponsors who make this event possible,” she said. “The show supports the mission of the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce and allows the organization to continue supporting the interests of the business community.”
The Chamber’s Home & Garden Committee — made up of dedicated volunteers — helps run the annual event, contributing their time and expertise.
"We have volunteers in the children’s garden to provide a fun experience for kids and a team focused on maintaining the event space and supporting vendors,” McFarland said.
Planning for the show begins in the fall, and exhibitor registration opens in January.
“We invite the community to join us for the 2025 Wayne County Home & Garden Show,” said Samira Zimmery, president and CEO of the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce. “We enjoy providing businesses the opportunity to showcase their products and services to the public while offering the community this longstanding spring tradition. The event truly offers something for everyone.”
