Local author Amy Mae Boreman will host a book-signing event to debut her children's book, "Maggie’s New Home," at Dee’s Hallmark on Saturday, Nov. 25 from noon to 3 p.m. at 4055 Burbank Road, Wayne Town Plaza, Wooster.

Boreman has spent her entire career living and working in and around Wayne County. In her free time she did freelance news writing and wrote feature stories for the Sheltie Pacesetter and the Sheltie International magazines.

She has been a member of the Cleveland Shetland Sheepdog Club and Wayne County Kennel Club and has trained under Cleveland All Breed and the Akron Training Center.

Boreman started Love on a Leash 4-H club in Wooster. Because of her love for dogs and 39 years of raising and showing them, Boreman brings a series of picture books to inspire children to read and learn.

"Maggie’s New Home" is a heart-warming story about a Pomeranian puppy. She finds herself moving away from the city to a life down on the farm. There she meets her first friend, Tammie, a Shetland Sheepdog, who takes her all around the farm, making new friends as they go.

Boreman will autograph and dedicate books for designated recipients.

Blake DeHart, a graphic artist from Northeast Ohio, illustrated "Maggie's New Home." He is passionate about storytelling, skateboarding and music.
