Dover Public Library received a grant for $20,000 that will facilitate a fire alarm system.

                        

In 2022 the Reeves Foundation awarded $1,311,363.50 to 56 local organizations. The Reeves Foundation was founded in 1966 by businessman Samuel J. Reeves, Jr. with funding in part from his two sisters, Helen and Jane, and wife Margaret.

This year’s grants bring the total awarded by the foundation since inception to $40,941,125.28.

Grant awards are as follows:

—Claymont City Schools, $15,000 for pole vault/high jump equipment.

—Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools, $100,000 for auditorium.

—Dover Soccer Association, $8,000 for chain-link fence.

—Camp Zimmerman Foundation, $21,000 for retaining wall.

—Tuscora Park Foundation, $50,000 for pickleball courts.

—Dover City Schools, $50,000 for middle school library renovation.

—Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County Inc., $19,003 for stage and proscenium curtains.

—Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market, $8,210 for 10 picnic tables.

—Dover Public Library, $20,000 for fire alarm system.

—Strasburg Band Boosters, $20,000 for band instruments.

—Twin City Christian Service Center, $2,500 for hygiene products.

—York Township Fire Department, $6,480 for thermal imaging camera.

—Mineral-Sandy Ambulance District, $10,000 for monitor/defibrillator.

—First United Methodist Church, $9,951 for lighting/landscaping project.

—Journey’s End Ministries, $3,000 for electric/battery pallet-jack.

—Mineral City Area Historical Society, $2,100 for office furniture and printer.

—Pan Handle Athletic Club Inc., $24,962 for Steiner tractor/mowing deck.

—Bucks Township, $20,638 for dump bed/bed liner.

—Power of the Pen, $5,000 for District Writing Tournament.

—Mineral City Village, $37,871 for excavator.

—Uhrichsville Fire Department, $28,583 for repair and refinish of floors/new grating.

—Indian Valley Music Boosters, $9,000 for trailer.

—Big Brothers Big Sisters ECO, $10,000 for copier.

—Immaculate Conception School, $30,000 for Scholastic Reading Program.

—Tuscarawas County Public Library, $25,000 for boiler.

—Claymont City Schools, $25,000 for sound system.

—Dress-a-Child, $5,000 for clothing.

—First Presbyterian Church, $9,000 for roof project.

—Mobile Meals of Dover/New Philadelphia, $10,000 for Styrofoam containers/software fees.

—Tuscarawas County YMCA, $36,500 for HVAC Wellness Center.

—Tuscarawas City Agricultural Society, $15,800 for roof repairs of show arena.

—Camp Zimmerman, $8,920 for flooring for cabins and shower.

—Mineral City Area Historical Society, $1,340 for blinds, paint, folding tables and chairs.

—Dover Soccer Association, $40,000 for two soccer fields.

—ARTSNCT, $7,425 for security camera system.

—Village of Strasburg, $6,000 for generator.

—Village of Zoar, $6,355.30 for severe weather/tornado siren.

—Twin City Christian Service Center, $2,126.09 for platform trucks/rolling ladder.

—Garaway Senior Center, $903.65 for automatic external defibrillator.

—Dover Exchange Club, $10,000 for picnic shelter.

—Tuscarawas Central Catholic Junior and Senior High School, $111,318 for school bus.

—Warwick Township, $75,000 for tractor/mower.

—Dover Historical Society, $70,000 for Reeves Museum 2023 operating expenses.

—Tuscarawas City University Foundation, $81,184.62 for weight room equipment.

—Tuscarawas City Council for church and community, $55,000 for operating and emergency funds.

—New Philadelphia Quaker Club, $100,000 for flooring project at Quaker Dome.

—Mineral City Volunteer Fire Department, $45,446.46 for dive rescue equipment.

—Mobile Meals of Dover-New Philadelphia, $10,000 for discretionary grant.

During the year board member Ronald Pissocra retired. Additionally, two new community members, Robin Waltz and Dalene Baker, joined the foundation board.

Requests of all sizes are considered, but organizations must be 501(c)(3) certified. The foundation board meets bimonthly to consider grant requests.
